Earned Recognition change digital requirement
Digital requirements for DVSA’s Earned Recognition scheme have changed.
Earned Recognition operators, or those seeking to join the scheme, will not need to have one single fully digital reporting system by 1 April 2022.
The changes have been made following consultation with Earned Recognition members, operators outside the scheme and IT suppliers.
What has changed?
From 1 April 2022, operators may use:
more than one electronic system to collect data
manual maintenance systems, these will still require validation
driver defect reporting systems that will be validated on an individual basis
a mix of electronic systems and manual systems to report key performance indicators (KPIs) and standards data
Key performance indicators (KPIs) and standards required to join and be part of the ER scheme remain unchanged.
What this means for you
The removal of the deadline offers you as an operator more opportunities to meet the reporting requirements and join the scheme.
Industry leading safety
DVSA is satisfied with the range of methods being introduced for maintenance reporting.
Operators on the scheme and those who want to apply can still prove they are maintaining the highest standards of road safety with these changes.
We encourage you to use digital systems where they improve road safety outcomes.
